Also, I have some employment documents and information on their St. Louis occupations.
This site is to compile, add-to, expand, or continue the never ending quest to complete The Cenatiempo family lineage. Although Cenatiempo is my grandmother's maiden name, this is where my U.S. history began. The mysteries and stories are interesting and I hope that others can add, share and even take away information freely. I won't be posting every day, however please join me on this trek if you are part of 'La Famiglia' (The Family).

Welcome to St. Louis
Well at this point in time four Cenatiempo brothers (and wives) decided to make St. Louis, Missouri their new home. I am going to assume that they arrived by train, although I can't be for sure. This time period right after the turn of the century (1900), St. Louis was preparing for the World's Fair. Here's some interesting documentation of that time period in St. Louis and how it correlates to the new immigrants of the time.
Also, I have some employment documents and information on their St. Louis occupations.

Who are you and where are you going?- Immigration Documentation
I still wonder why St. Louis was their final destination? Was it just co-incidence, or fascination, or popularity, or a dream of wealth. I wonder if it has to do with the 1904 World's Fair about to take place. I bet that was it. I would have loved to been there during that time to see Forest Park's transformation into a world showcase!

Let's Get Started!
You can do a Google map of the island today to get a clear satellite image. The island is actually a volcano with a surrounding base. I know that some relatives have gone there for visiting. From what I have heard, read and studied it seems like a neat place. I would like to see more personal pictures, but I have never been there myself. Maybe if anyone has any they can scan them to my email and I can post them. And if anyone has any stories of the 'old world' I would love to hear them! Feel free to post them here with any other comments for all to hear.

To Find the Past You Have to Start with the Present
See me? Well, see my head? I am the only baby in this picture. Here is a picture of what I knew at the time to be my 'close knitted' family. I didn't know what that meant or how much that would change throughout the years, or that some of these people that I love so much would die. But because of the changing of all those things it has made me look for a 'constant' (aside from God) that would never change. And that constant is the past. Past lives of history, my own personal quest and journey of my family lineage and how it all began. Hopefully, with the help of all my family, this site will be a fun filled exchange of memorabilia, memories and documents.
And here I am today, ok well last year. I'd like to say the only difference is my hair length. But I was still officially in my 20's. I am wiser now though right?
Now that I have told you about me, I haven't begun to to tell you what I have found out. I am the daughter of Patty Zarkie born in St. Louis Missouri, who's mother was Margie (Margaret) Cenatiempo also born in St. Louis Missouri. Margie's parent were Ben (Benedetto) and Anna Cenatiempo both born in Italy. And there on an island called D'Ishcia in the province or town of Barano Italy is where I will start and hopefully others will help fill in the blanks and add stories. There were 4 brothers that wanted to come to America for a better life. And their names were Guiseppe (Joseph), Francesco (Frank), Benedetto (Ben) Anthony, and Michele (Mike) Arcangelo. And soon I will be posting their manifest papers. If anyone has any dates stories, or corrections, or 'legends' feel free to post them!
I will be posting A LOT more information as time goes on including pictures and documents. It's way more than can be posted in one sitting.
