To Find the Past You Have to Start with the Present

See me? Well, see my head? I am the only baby in this picture. Here is a picture of what I knew at the time to be my 'close knitted' family. I didn't know what that meant or how much that would change throughout the years, or that some of these people that I love so much would die. But because of the changing of all those things it has made me look for a 'constant' (aside from God) that would never change. And that constant is the past. Past lives of history, my own personal quest and journey of my family lineage and how it all began. Hopefully, with the help of all my family, this site will be a fun filled exchange of memorabilia, memories and documents.
And here I am today, ok well last year. I'd like to say the only difference is my hair length. But I was still officially in my 20's. I am wiser now though right?

Now that I have told you about me, I haven't begun to to tell you what I have found out. I am the daughter of Patty Zarkie born in St. Louis Missouri, who's mother was Margie (Margaret) Cenatiempo also born in St. Louis Missouri. Margie's parent were Ben (Benedetto) and Anna Cenatiempo both born in Italy. And there on an island called D'Ishcia in the province or town of Barano Italy is where I will start and hopefully others will help fill in the blanks and add stories. There were 4 brothers that wanted to come to America for a better life. And their names were Guiseppe (Joseph), Francesco (Frank), Benedetto (Ben) Anthony, and Michele (Mike) Arcangelo. And soon I will be posting their manifest papers. If anyone has any dates stories, or corrections, or 'legends' feel free to post them!
I will be posting A LOT more information as time goes on including pictures and documents. It's way more than can be posted in one sitting.

  1. I live on a farm in Leslie that was share cropped years ago with the Cenatiempo's. The old house was recently torn down however, we found an old cigar? box. In the box I found a Personal Property Bill of sale 1927, a flyer about Joe's Place opening 7/1927 on St Charles Rock Road, an newspaper artical about a big bootlegger arrest and lots of letters written to Joseph Cenatiempo in 1928 while he was in the St Charles County Jail. I thought this was really interesting and you might like to have them if he is related to you. One letter is from his cousin, Margaret Cenatiempo she lived at 1020 Forest Ave in St Louis. Please feel free to call me if you think this is your relative. My name is Sherry Rudman 314-603-0854.
